Apologies

Author: Juno Volsung /

I do apologize for not posting anything lately. I have done several dozen projects since my last post but usually forgot to take a pic before mailing them off or giving them away. I am working on a few project now, a DJ bag from Son of Stitch & Bitch for my oldest son and a Celtic Knot Scarf for myself.

I promise I will take pics of these as well as all the dishcloths I am going to be making and post them when I get my computer back. I am on a borrowed comp so I can't do much on it.

Duel Sided Reversible Duck Scarf

Author: Juno Volsung /

Here is my scarf I promised.

The pattern is as follows:

Dual Sided Reversible Duck Scarf

Needles: Size 8 (5 mm)
1 row/stitch counter (for keeping track of what row you are on)
5 rows = 1 inch

Yarn: Two skeins worsted weight yarn that complements each other. I used:
Color A: Red Heart Super Saver Delft Blue
Color B: Red Heart Super Saver Shocking Pink

CO 52 stitches (there should be 26 of each color) Make sure the colors alternate so you don’t have two of the same color stitches next to each other. It should start with Color A and end with Color B.

Remember on the first Purl stitch of each row, bring your Purl color around and over the top from back to front. If you don’t then your two sides will not be connected. You can always go back and stitch them together after you are done.

Row 1: *K1, P1 Repeat from * to end. Knit Color B, Purl Color A.
Row 2: *K1, P1 Repeat from * to end. Knit Color A, Purl Color B.
Row 3: Repeat Row 1
Row 4: Repeat Row 2
Row 5: Repeat Row 1

You will notice, now one side is Color A and the other side if Color B.

This is where the checker board pattern starts.

Keep your Knit color in back and Purl color in Front. Basically, Knit with the yarn in back and Purl with the yarn in front. Your knit color will be the color of the first stitch on the needle. Unless otherwise told.

Switching yarns means to put the yarn that is in front in the back and the one that is in back in the front.

Row 6: With Color A in Front and Color B in back P1, K1 five times. Switch yarns K1, P1 five times. Switch yarns P1, K1 six times. Switch yarns, K1, P1 five times. Switch yarns P1, K1 five times.

Row 13: Repeat Row 11
Row 14: Repeat Row 12

Row 21: Repeat Row 1
Row 22: Repeat Row 2
Row 23: Repeat Row 1
Row 24: Repeat Row 2
Row 25: Repeat Row 1

Now you are ready to start on the actual Duck pattern. This will be repeated three to four times depending on how long you want your scarf then everything will be reversed so your ducks are all facing each other (or away from each other) when you have it hanging around your neck.

My Second Swap

Author: Juno Volsung /

This is what I received from my second cloth swap

Circles Dishcloth

Author: Juno Volsung /

This is the Circles Dishcloth and I found it rather neat to make. I really like the odd cloths and think it would be great for a scrubbing cloth for the body. At least that is what I am going to use it for if I don't gift it to someone.

Hat of Many Colors Update

Well, I finished the hat and of course after altering it the way mom's husband wanted, he decided he didn't like it because it had too much pink in it.

This is the start of my Hat of many colors. Mom's Husband wanted one so I am using five different prints from Red heart that I had left over to make it, and boy does he have a big head... 24 inches!
